WHY TO GO

Delphi is famous as the ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of Pythia, the oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. Moreover, the Greeks considered Delphi the navel (or centre) of the world, as represented by the stone monument known as the Omphalos of Delphi. It occupies an impressive site on the south-western slope of Mount Parnassus, overlooking the coastal plain to the south and the valley of Phocis.

WHAT TO SEE

Just 8km from Arachova you will reach Delphi, the navel of the earth. It is worth visiting the archaeological site of Delphi with the famous Oracle and enjoying the view of the Corinthian Gulf. Visit the Pan-Hellenic Sanctuary of Delphi and the most famous oracle of Ancient Greece. According to the tradition, here initially a sanctuary dedicated to the female goddess of Earth guard was the terrible dragon Python.
